Conegliano

Conegliano is a town with 34,200 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso. Together with Valdobbiadene it is the home of Prosecco and houses the traditional wine school of Conegliano.

The town of Conegliano situated at the foot of the Colli Veneti on the river Monticano. In the historical center along Via XX Settembre is also the castle with the town museum.

Conegliano is the starting point of the " white wine road " that leads through the villages of the district di Piave up to Valdobbiadene.

Every year in June, in the center of Conegliano instead of the Dama Castellana, a lively lady - section with historical costumes from the Renaissance. In September, the so-called Enodama is played in more traditional venues. Again, there is a checkers game, the stones, to be replaced by filled with white wine and red wine glasses.
