Cison di Valmarino

Cison di Valmarino is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2722 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 34 kilometers north-northwest of Treviso in Valmareno and directly borders the province of Belluno.

History

In the early Middle Ages, the present municipality was under Lombard rule. The Parochial Church has its origins in the year 1170. Particular the Duchy of Ceneda exercised significant influence over the area from. From 1421 the area came under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Venice. 1866, the community after the fall of the Lombard- venezischen Kingdom became part of Italy.
