Claus Dalpiaz

Claus Dalpiaz ( born October 10, 1971 in Kufstein ) is an Austrian former professional ice hockey goaltender. With over 140 appearances for the national team, he is a record holder among the Austrian ice hockey goalkeepers.

Playing career

Even as a young goalkeeper joined Claus Dalpiaz from HC Kufstein about the club SB Rosenheim, with whom he played in 1989 for the first time in the German Hockey League. After three seasons, he moved to Austria for VEU Feldkirch, where he played from 1993 to 1995.

For the 1995/96 season he moved to Rosenheim, where he played with the now divested from the main club first team Star Bulls Rosenheim in the DEL, and remained there until 1998 /1999. After his contract expired in Rosenheim, Dalpiaz moved to EC Bad Nauheim in the second German league in which he played but only one season.

2000/2001 he went to the HC Innsbruck, where he remained under contract for seven seasons and there has experienced great success and good statistics. His number 31 was declared at the end of season 2006/2007 the number blocked, which means that the number of Innsbruck is no longer awarded.

After Claus Dalpiaz due to the commitment of Seamus Kotyk of HCI for the 2007/2008 season was no contract anymore, he signed with EC Graz 99ers a contract for two years. After the last place the 99ers announced despite ongoing contracts to a new keeper team for next season. In July, the Star Bulls Rosenheim announced the commitment of Claus Dalpiaz. Claus Dalpiaz received German citizenship later. For the season 2010/11 Claus Dalpiaz received no contract more of the Star Bulls Rosenheim and Dalpiaz returned to his home club, the HC Kufstein, back. He is since 2011 along with his brother Christian coach of the Elite League team.

Dalpiaz Claus lives in Neubeuern, is married, 68 kg and 175 cm tall. His hobbies include fly fishing, windsurfing and hiking.
