Claxton Welch

Claxton Nathaniel Welch ( born July 3, 1947 in Portland, Oregon, United States) is a former American football player in the National Football League ( NFL).

Playing career

Claxton Welch studied at the University of Oregon. After graduating, he was drafted in 1969 by the Dallas Cowboys in the ninth round to 230 place. Cowboys coach Tom Landry was, which had formed out of the team, a top team. Welch was primarily used as a blocker of running back Calvin Hill. Welch was able to move in his rookie year with the Cowboys in the play offs. The team, however, different from early. The Cleveland Browns won the game 38:14.

In 1970, Welch played for the New Orleans Saints, but returned after a short time back to the Cowboys and won with his team the NFC Championship Game.
