Clear Lake AVA

Clear Lake AVA ( recognized since 8 May 1984) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the southwest of the administrative area of ​​Lake County. The wine-growing area with a protected designation of origin includes the Clear Lake a completely. The water masses of the largest fresh water reserves California's moderate climate and the region is one of the coolest of the state. So here early maturing varieties such as Tempranillo and the white Sauvignon Blanc can be grown with success.

The area of ​​the Clear Lake AVA overlaps in part with the defined area of ​​the appellation High Valley AVA.
