Cliff Griffith
Clifford " Cliff" Griffith ( born February 6, 1916 in Nineveh, Indiana; † January 23, 1996 in Rochester, Indiana) was an American race car driver.
Career
Griffith started 1950-1956 at irregular intervals in the AAA National Series and 1961 in the USAC series. Overall, he came up with 19 races, where he was also placed eight times in the top ten. His best result was the fourth rank in the race in Springfield 1950. Four times he was with the 500 miles of Indianapolis at the start. His best result was a ninth place he scored in a Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser 1952 here. However Eight times he could not qualify for the race.
Since the 500 miles belonged from 1950 to 1960 the world championship of Formula 1, available at Griffith also three participations in the drivers' world championship in the start list. Points for the world championship he could not achieve.
