Club Almagro

The Club Almagro is an Argentine football club based in Buenos Aires. The club established in 1911, plays in the 2008 season in the Nacional B, the second division in Argentina's football.

History

The club was founded on January 6, 1911 at the district Almagro Buenos Aires. Although the club still has sports facilities for its members in Almagro himself, the stadium of football second division is, however, in José Ingenieros, Buenos Aires province.

In 1938, Almagro played for the first time in the first Argentine football league, as they managed to climb in the previous year. We stayed only one year in the top division. It was the first year in which even a promotion to League 1 was possible. In 1968, Almagro was second-division champion, missed but in the relegation the leap into excellence. In its nearly 100 years of club history, the " tricolores " were most of the time in the second division, even several years, represented in the third division. Lost to the club in the years 2000 and 2004 draw attention to themselves with the top-flight climb, but had to join the second division respectively after only one year.

Stadium

The club plays at the Estadio Tres de Almagro Febrero, which was inaugurated on 7 April 1956 and can accommodate 19,500 spectators.
