Coat of arms of South Australia

The coat of arms of South Australia, a state of Australia, is a blue heraldic shield with golden seal in which a naturally colored bird flute ( an Australian Piping Shrike ) sits with outstretched wings on a black tree branch.

About the shield floats a gold-red - black crest with four green plant stems and red flowers of the desert pea ( Swainsona formosa ).

On the green pedestal stems of wheat, barley, fruit and citrus are randomly scattered Two gears and a mining pick on the left.

Symbolism

The rising sun is symbolized by the golden seal. The coat of arms was renewed in a proclamation on April 19 in 1984 and was the replacement for the in 1936, awarded by King Edward VIII.
