Codex Guelferbytanus B

The Codex Guelferbytanus B ( Gregory -Aland no Q or 026; von Soden ε 4 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 5th century.

Description

The manuscript is from the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of John with gaps to 13 sheets ( 26.5 x 21.5 cm). The Codex is in the Herzog August Library under the signature Cod Guelf. 64 Weiss. held in Wolfenbüttel.

The uncial letters are large as in the Codex Spiritus asper P., Spiritus lenis, and accents are missing. The Ammonianischen sections are there, but the Eusebische canon missing.

The manuscript is a palimpsest. The leaves come from seven or eight late antique predecessors manuscripts repaid, but are still readable. Among them are the oldest tradition of the Greek physician Galen, parts of Greek and Latin gospels and manuscripts of the Bible, the book of Romans commentary by Ambrosiaster and Gothic and Latin texts of Romans.
