Codex Nanianus

The Codex Nanianus ( Gregory -Aland no U or 030; von Soden ε 90 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 9th century. The manuscript is complete.

Description

The manuscript contains the four Gospels on 291 parchment leaves ( 22.5 x 16.7 cm).

The text is in two columns of 21 lines. The manuscript contains Epistula ad Carpianum, Eusebischen tables, tables of κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, κεφαλαια, images, and signatures. Spiritus asper, Spiritus lenis and accents are there. Parchment is fine, the ink is brown.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type and the category V is assigned.

History

The name of the code came after his last owner Giovanni Nanni ( 1432-1502 ).

The Codex is kept in the Biblioteca Marciana ( 1397 ( 1, 8) ) in Venice.
