Codex Regius (New Testament)

The Codex Regius ( Gregory -Aland no Le or 019; von Soden ε 56 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 8th century. The manuscript is not complete.

Description

It consists of the four Gospels on 257 parchment leaves, but the Codex is missing some parts of the Gospels ( Matt 4.22 to 5.14; 28.17-20, Mark 10.16-30, 15.2 to 20, John 21, 15-25 ). The parchment is coarse and thick. The format is 23.5 cm x 17 cm, the text is in two columns of 25 lines. The large uncial letters have accents and spiritus asper and lenis.

The Codex is preserved in the Bibliothèque nationale de France ( Gr. 62) in Paris.
