Colliers Wood tube station

Colliers Wood is an underground station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Merton. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3 at the junction of Merton High Street and Christchurch Road. The name comes from a small forest a little further east, which was cut down in 1870. In the year 2011 there were 5.57 million passengers these trains of the Northern Line station.

The station was opened on 13 September 1926 as part of the extension of Clapham Common after murders. Designed by Charles Holden station is a symmetrical building in modernist style and is made of Portland stone. It includes a high ticket hall with three entrances, which is flanked on both sides by single-storey shop wings. Since 1987, the building is a listed building (Grade II).

Opposite the station building is Colliers Wood Tower.
