Tooting Broadway tube station

Tooting Broadway is an underground station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3 in the center of the district of Tooting. As Tooting Broadway intersection is described by four busy main roads, the Upper Tooting Road in the northeast, the Garratt Lane in the northwest, the Tooting High Street in the southwest and the Mitcham Road in the southeast. In the year 2011 there were 13.04 million passengers these trains of the Northern Line station.

The station was opened on 13 September 1926 as part of the extension of Clapham Common after murders. Designed by Charles Holden station is composed of Portland stone building in modernist style. The main facade is rounded, the tiles on the platforms and in the access routes have been preserved in their original state. Since 1987, the building is a listed building (Grade II). Above the entrance is a 1911 by the artist Louis Frederick Roslyn created statue of King Edward VII and is also a listed monument.

A special feature is that southward moving trains in Tooting Broadway may use as required, rather than continue on to the final stop murders. To this end, the trains run a railway siding between the two separate directional tunnels.
