Confessions is the fourth studio album by American R & B singer Usher.
The album counts with more than 15 million units sold ( only about 9 million of them in the U.S.) the most successful albums of the year 2004.
The original version of the album brought forth four singles, including the Lil- Jon- production " Yeah! " The U.S. release " Confessions (Part II) ", " Caught Up " and the mid-tempo ballad " Burn."
In October 2004, a "Special Edition" of the album was released. The re-release includes both the duet " My Boo " with Alicia Keys, as well as two previously unreleased tracks and an additional remix.
Style
The album is largely attributable to the Contemporary R & B, but also the soul and hip -hop according to the E -zine laut.de. While the decoupling Yeah! synthische elements adduced, the rest of the album is up to the song Bad Girl rather less dancefloor - related. In terms of " Gesangeskünste " and voice laut.de sees similarities with Michael Jackson, his successor, Justin Timberlake and Prince.
The lyrics deal mostly love relationships that Usher processed through the songs.
Reception
The album was well received both in German and in the U.S. media as the All Music Guide.
The Internet portal CDstarts.de Usher praises diversity of voices and the variety offered by the album.
