Chris Robinson (singer)
Christopher " Chris " Mark Robinson ( born December 20, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA) is the lead singer of the U.S. rock band The Black Crowes, which he founded in the 1980s, together with his brother Rich Robinson.
The Black Crowes
Early 1990 the band managed with their debut Shake Your Moneymaker a global success, millions and the international break. With the follow- The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion established the " Black Crowes " their blend of retro rock, soul, gospel and country. After several commercially unsuccessful albums, the band split initially in early 2002, launched in the spring of 2005, however a comeback. In 2011 she broke away again temporarily.
New Earth Mud
During the break, Chris Robinson tried with moderate success on his solo project New Earth Mud. For this purpose he toured in 2003 and 2004. It came as part of New Earth Mud also to a renewed cooperation with former members of the Black Crowes. Both Marc Ford and Eddie Harsch worked with on the first album, which was also called New Earth Mud. Audley Freed, 1998-2001 touring guitarist of the Black Crowes, was after the release of their second album This Magnificent Distance to the band New Earth Mud.
Chris Robinson Brotherhood
After the Black Crowes in 2010 once again announced a break of indefinite length, was presented a new project in the fall of Robinsons, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. You already toured in spring 2011 by California and was particularly struck by frequent on cover songs of the Grateful Dead. Members of the Chris Robinson Brotherhood is already known from the Black Crowes keyboardist Adam MacDougall and Mark " Muddy " Dutton on bass, played with Marc Ford at Burning Tree, before he left the band in 1992 for the Black Crowes.
Private life
On September 8, 1996 married Lala Sloatman Robinson, a niece of Frank Zappa. The marriage ended in divorce in 1998. After almost seven years of marriage with the actress Kate Hudson, they separated in 2006. They have a son, Ryder Russell Robinson, who was born on 7 January 2004. In 2009, Robinson married again. Together with his third wife Allison Bridges, he got 26 December 2009 a daughter who was named Cheyenne Genevieve.
Producer
After Robinson had already produced several albums of other artists in the early 90s, more recordings were released at the end of the first decade of 2000s - still with him as a producer. Frequently honored with critical acclaim, stood at a most only moderate commercial success.
