Conrad I of Burgundy

Conrad III. the peaceable things - according to another count Konrad I. - († 19 October 993, buried in the Abbey of Saint -André- de -Bas in Vienne) was from 937 until his death King of Upper Burgundy.

Konrad was the son and heir of Rudolf II. He was the brother of Adelheid and has been chosen as a minor in Lausanne and crowned.

Against him stood Hugo, king of Italy, after the death of Rudolf II 937 claims on Burgundy, as his son Lothar Konrad's sister Adelheid had been promised. Against these claims Konrad III was. protected by the Saxon duke and the East Frankish King Otto I., in which he caused to his court to Saxony 's successor before the arrival of Hugo's in Burgundy in December 937 and so assured him of his inheritance.

But it succeeded 975 to end Islamic rule in Provence.
