CORALIE spectrograph

The CORALIE spectrograph is an echelle spectrograph in the field of astronomy. The scientific instrument is used together with a telescope to measure spectra of stars, by means of the Doppler effect extrasolar planets by the radial velocity method to discover.

It was installed as part of the Southern Sky extrasolar planet search programs on Leonhard Euler telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile.

The ELODIE spectrograph was the Pendent of Northern Extrasolar Planet Search program.

Properties

The spectral resolution of CORALIE is a summary of 3 pixels. The CCD detector has 2000 × 2000 pixels while with a pixel size of 15 microns.

Planets discovered by CORALIE

Five planets have been discovered by CORALIE, verified by other monitoring programs.
