Coritiba Foot Ball Club

The Coritiba Foot Ball Club is a football club based in Curitiba, the capital of the Brazilian state of Paraná.

History

In 1909, there were to engage in sports together around the club Ginástico Teuto Brasileiro some young people, members of the German Society of Coritiba. In September of the same year one of these young people, Frederico Fritz brought food boxes, a leather ball with the club and told the others the rules of football. The young people liked the new sport and started games on the Quartel since discharge Força Pública place. Yet on October 12th Coritibano Football Club was founded. The club was founded in Teatro Hauer.

On October 23, the first official match of the new association in Ponta Grossa was discharged. Former opponents was the Club de Foot -Ball Tiro Pontagrossense, which was founded by English workers of Ponta Grossa railroad. The game ended 0-1 from the perspective of Coritiba FC. Coritiba consisted at that time of the founders Artur Hauer, Alfredo Labsch, Leopoldo Obladen, Robert Juchsch, Carlos Schlender, Fritz food fields, Carl Maschke, Waldemar Hauer, Rudolf Kastrup, Adolpho Müller, Emilio Dietrich, Erothides Calberg and Arthur Iwersen.

On 21 October 1910, the Association changed its name for the first time and became Coritiba. João Viana Seiler was elected the first president of the club. On 12 June 1910, the first game took place in Curitiba, Campo do Prado instead. Coritiba beat the Ponta Grossa Foot Ball Club (formerly Club de Foot -Ball Tiro Pontagrossense ) with 5:3 and was therefore unable to avenge their defeat from the first game. In 1916, could be achieved with the state championship of Paraná, the first track. Stadium

Built in 1927-1932 Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira is the club's home stadium Coritiba FC. It is in a traditional district of Curitiba, the " Alto da Glória " is. The stadium is "da Glória Alto " usually called " Couto Pereira " or.

The stadium has since the conclusion of last renovation 2005 a capacity of about 40,000 spectators.
