Corque

Corque ( Aymara: Kurki ) is a village in the department of Oruro in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Corque is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Corque and administrative center of the province Carangas. The village lies at an altitude of 3775 m in the valley of the Río Corque at the southern end of the Serranía de Huayllamarca, of a 100- kilometer-long ridge that extends on the Altiplano in the northwest -southeast direction.

Geography

Corque is located in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano, between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Occidental. The climate of the region is a typical diurnal climate where the average temperatures fluctuate more during the day than during the year.
