Costa Rica women's national football team

The Costa Rican national soccer team of women representing Costa Rica in international women's football. The national reports to the Football Federation of Costa Rica and is coached by José Luis Díaz. The selection took five previously discharged North America in the championships, the third place in 1998 when the United States did not participate, which was previously greatest success. At a World Cup or the Olympics, the selection of Costa Rica has not yet participated.

On 14 March 2012, the team reached with number 40 the best ever position in the FIFA World Ranking. After the U.S., Canada and Mexico, it is the fourth- strongest team in the CONCACAF. In March 2013, it won a tournament in Costa Rica, which was attended by seven Central American countries, where in the first group match was achieved by a 14:0 against Belize highest ever victory. The most successful and most internationally famous player is Shirley Cruz Traña.
