Green Neon ( Hemigrammus hyanuary )

The Green Neon ( Hemigrammus hyanuary ), also known under the name Costellosalmler, a schooling fish from the family of the Real tetras is ( Characidae ). Despite its misleading name, it is not among the neon tetras of the genus Paracheirodon, but the genus Hemigrammus. The Neon Green lives in the middle and upper Amazon River from Iquitos to São Paulo de Olivenca, and in Hyanuary Lake near Manaus.

The Neon Green is a peaceful and unassuming schooling fish, which fully for entertainment in the aquarium, even in a community tank, is because of its sufficiency.

Features

His figure is somewhat deep-bodied than the genuine neon. Its top is yellow to olive-green color, from the top edge of the gill cover to the tail, a greenish to yellowish iridescent longitudinal ligament pulls. His belly is silvery. The Green Neon is four inches long.

Reproduction

Green neon spawn at dusk. During mating, the male swims among the female and follows its movements to the side to hug laying eggs at his partner. The fry hatch after 24 hours and only swim free after six days.
