Counterparts (Band)

Counterparts is a founded in 2007, Melodic hardcore band from Hamilton, Ontario.

First, the group stood at Verona Records, which was founded by Silverstein vocalist Shane Told, under contract. Later, a signature took place at the U.S. record label Victory Records.

The group claimed a split with the hardcore band Exalt (2010), and the three albums Prophets (2010), The Current Will Carry Us ( 2011) and The Difference Between Hell and Home (2013 ) out. Counterparts already played concert tours in North America and Europe.

History

Counterparts of Brendan Murphy ( vocals), Jesse Doreen ( electric guitar ), Chris Washik ( electric guitar ), Eric Bazinet ( electric bass) and Ryan Juntilla (drums) was founded in Hamilton, Ontario in 2007. Washik left the group in mid-2009 and was initially replaced by Alex Re on guitar sporadically. He later became firmly integrated into the band.

In March 2009, Counterparts have toured Canada. In 2010, Shane Told, his character singer of Silverstein, the group with his specially created label Verona Records. Brendan Murphy can be heard as a guest musician on Silverstein's album Rescue in the piece The Artist.

On 23 February 2010 the debut album was released under the title Prophets on Verona Records. On the CD- release party, the group played with Structures. In the same year, a split EP appeared with the hardcore band Exalt. It was the last release with drummer Ryan Juntilla. He left the group in the same year and was replaced by Chris Needham. The group toured to apply for their album through North America.

In spring 2011, the group signed to Victory Records. The musicians played concert tours continued into the summer. Needham, which still replaced last year Juntilla as a drummer, the group left. The reason for this was that he underwent speech therapy. After a long but unsuccessful search Ryan Juntilla rose again, even before the studio work began on the second album. The second album, The Current Will Carry Us, was released on 24 October 2011. The album received mostly positive reviews, including in Exclaim! , The Aquarian Weekly, and Rock Sound.

Kyle Brownlee, former drummer for the deathcore band Majesty replaced Juntilla from summer 2012 for further tours of the band. Counterparts were Juntillas exit from the band known because he did not want to be part of the band longer. It was announced in the same statement that Kelly Bilan - was admitted as a new drummer in the group - formerly active in I Am Committing a Sin and Dead and Divine.

On July 24, 2013 appeared with The Difference Between Hell and Home the third studio album by the group. In the fall of 2013 Alex Re announced the phasing out of the band. He only played the last shows in December 2013. In the meantime, Adrian Lee helped the group as a session musician on the rest of the band from concert tours. Also on the European tour in March 2014 with Hundredth, Being as an Ocean and Polar Lee was seen as a guitarist in the band.
