Coussiberlé

Coussiberlé is a village and formerly independent municipality in the lake district (French: District du Lac ) of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. Despite predominantly German-speaking population of the German name Guschubürli and Cussiberle are rarely used. On February 15, 1974 Coussiberlé was incorporated into Courlevon.

Geography

Coussiberlé is located at 580 m above sea level. M., 4 km south of the district town of Murten (air line). The village is located on a high plateau east of Courlevon, in Molassehügelland between Murten and the Saanen valley in the northern Fribourg plateau. Population

With 51 inhabitants ( 1970) Coussiberlé counted before the merger of the smallest municipalities in the canton of Fribourg. In 1850, the municipality had 63 inhabitants, 1900 80 inhabitants. History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1415 under the name Cursibellay. Later, the names Corsibellay ( 1425) and Cursiberlex ( 1558 ) published. Since the Middle Ages Coussiberlé belonged to the rule of Murten. 1475 reached the village as part of the bailiwick of Murten under the joint administration of the estates of Bern and Fribourg. After the collapse of the ancien régime (1798 ) Coussiberlé came to the Canton of Fribourg. During the Helvetic Republic and the subsequent time it belonged to the district of Murten, before it was incorporated in 1848 with the new cantonal constitution in the lake district.

Until 1717 also Coussiberlé belonged to Courlevon, then it formed a separate municipality until 1871, combined with Courgevaux 1832 and then again independently. Since 1871 owned Coussiberlé and Courlevon common management. On February 15, 1974 Coussiberlé was finally incorporated to Courlevon. Coussiberlé belongs to the parish Murten.
