Development

The fictitious Crimson Skies universe, on which the game is based, was created by the U.S. developers Jordan Weisman and Dave McCoy. This alternative reality is inspired by the 20s and 30s of the twentieth century. Weisman and McCoy also created an eponymous tabletop and a series of books in this universe.

Jordan Weisman took over the role of creative director for the development of the computer game. Target was a sort of Errol Flynn pirate adventure to create in the air. The development originally started for Virtual World Entertainment under the name " Corsair ", whose development has been set, however. When the FASA Corporation later part of Microsoft was revealed in Weisman chance for a new project; his choice was to reboot the Crimson Skies PC game.

The first shipping version of the game had numerous technical problems, including deleted the infamous bug of the player's game savegames. The patch released shortly after 1:01 remedied this problem. Action
