Crush 40

Crush 40 is a Japanese / American hard rock band, which is partly responsible for the songs of the Sonic video games of the Japanese video game company Sega. Previously they produced even under the name Sons of Angels music for the arcade racing game NASCAR Rubbin ' Racing / EA Sports NASCAR, but they changed their name because there was already a band that bore the name. There is still a plate of them, which is titled " Thrill of the Feel".

Band History

Crush 40 ( briefly also sometimes called C40 ) is a project of the American singer Johnny Gioeli (also known as the singer of Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell ) and the Japanese guitarist Jun Senoue (known as Sound Director at SEGA ).

Her first song was released in the first 3D game of Sonic, which " Open Your Heart " is the name and the theme song of the game was. Senoue had the song written on Gioelis voice, but had no contact possibility, however, could reach about Doug Aldrich ( Whitesnake guitarist ) Johnny, which led to the collaboration. The second song, " It Does not Matter ", became the title track of Sonic and was sung by Tony Harnell ( ex- singer of the band TNT). Thus, it is not really a crush 40 song, but was recorded on the album Crush 40.

Her next appearance was in the next game, Sonic Adventure 2 (on the Gamecube under the name of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle) instead. The first song is " Live & Learn ", which was also the theme song and a typical, classic hard rock song. The other song is called " Escape From The City", represents the song of the first levels of the game and sung by Ted Poley and therefore applies here, that it is strictly speaking not a crush 40 song, but often as such is considered, as it 40 appeared on the album Crush.

All four songs were not produced under a band name in the credits all parties were mentioned only by name and not associated with Crush 40. This remained so until 2003, a self-titled album. This includes all four have been published songs of the Sonic games, and seven of the songs (actually ) first plate when they still carried the name of Sons of Angels. In the same year, work began on the latest offshoot of the Sonic games and this time jun Senoue Sound Director. He began to write a few songs, this time with the help of other bands such as Julien -K, Kay Hanley, Gunnar Nelson and of course Johnny Gioeli. Also in this game, there were two new songs by Crush 40 Once the title song, which had the same name for the game, "Sonic Heroes ." A gaudy and rather poppigerer song than the previously published. The other was " What I'm Made Of ... ", this was much darker and harder than the other. This song was produced for the boss fight against Metal Overlord ( Metal Sonic ) with Super Sonic.

Appeared in 2005 SEGA 's latest Sonic game, the main character this time was his evil image of Shadow. The music was generally for this game ( who also worked Julien- K, A2, Powerman 5000 and Magna -Fi) much harder and darker than before. The title track was again of Crush 40, "I Am ( All Of Me) " and the true ending song "Never Turn Back ".

Also in 2006 erschienenem Sonic spin-off Sonic the Hedgehog Crush 40 was again represented, only with only a published song in the game, which is a cover version of the well-rehearsed in Shadow the Hedgehog song " All Hail Shadow" by Magna -Fi. However, this song is not the theme song, but the Leitlied of Shadow's episode. Theme song was " His World " by the band Zebrahead. Nevertheless, there is also a modified version of Crush 40 this song, which is, however, found only on the soundtrack CD Several Wills. The music for Silver's episode was played by Lee Brotherton Remix Factory.

Crush 40 produced some songs for the published in 2009, Sonic and the Black Knight. 2009 also appeared the best-of compilation under the name Super Sonic Songs. This includes nearly all Crush 40 songs that were written up to that time for the Sonic the Hedgehog series, as well as three songs from Crush 40 album and the new song "Is It You".

Was released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 Sonic Free Riders. The title song is "Free", which Crush 40 who covered for the soundtrack album.

2010 Crush had 40 announced in 2011 for Sonic games to produce music. So they played in 2011 at the Sonic Boom event at E3. On the 20th - Anniversary Edition of Sonic CD soundtracks they are represented together with Alex Makhlouf from the group Cash Cash. Here is their version of the title song of the American version of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic Boom to hear. December 2011 was released the charity single "Song of Hope" who wrote Senoue after the earthquake in Japan. This presented as the first Crush 40 release on iTunes, on which a Special Edition of SuperSonic followed songs compilation which contained three additional titles.

On January 23, 2012 published in June Senoue on his Twitter account ( @ Crush40 ) via picture from the recording studio, the titles of 3 songs that were recorded at that time. These are " Sonic Youth ", " Rise Again" and " One of Those Days " .. " Sonic Youth " and " Rise Again" were leaked as singles via iTunes on 21 June 2012 and 4 July 2012 together with "One of Those Days " officially released, the Rise Again EP, which " Sonic Youth "," One Of Those Days "," song Of Hope " and" Rise Again " includes, published August 1, 2012 exclusively in Japan.
