Cryptomycocolacomycetes

The Cryptomycocolacaceae are a family of Mushroom Fungi ( Basidiomycota ) that are placed in its own order Cryptomycocolacales and class Cryptomycocolacomycetes. It includes two types.

Characteristics and lifestyle

The Cryptomycocolacomycetes are parasites on filamentous fungi and their infested sclerotia. They are characterized by the presence of specific organelles, the Colacosomen. They are membrane-bound and connect the hyphae of the parasite with those of the host.

The basidia are particularly long.

The Septalporen associated with micro bodysuits. The spindle pole ( SPB correspond functionally to the centrosomes ) are large, disc-shaped and embedded during the nuclear division in a pore of the nuclear envelope. Both of these features, as SPBs Septalporen, suggest a basal position within the stand mushrooms.

System

The Cryptomycocolacomycetes among the Pucciniomycotina their exact position within this group, however, is still unclear. The class includes an order with a family and two kinds:

  • Cryptomycocolacales Cryptomycocolacaceae Colacosiphon Colacosiphon filiformis
  • Cryptomycocolax abnormis
