Cuvette Department

Cuvette is a department of the Republic of Congo with the capital Owando.

Geography

The Department is located in the center of the country, bordered to the north by the Department Sangha, on the south by the department Plateaux, on the northwest by the Department Cuvette -Ouest, on the southwest by Gabon, on the northeast by the Department Likouala and in the southeast, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

History

In 1995, the western part of the region as a new region Cuvette -Ouest ( Westcuvette ) was separated. Since 2002, both have the name " Department ".
