Djibouti airport

Daallo Airlines is an airline from Djibouti with its headquarters in the Free Trade Zone of Dubai Airport.

For some time she is on the list of the operating bans for the airspace of the European Union.

History

The company opened its flight operations on 20 March 1991 with a Cessna. First, the airline flew especially with older Russian aircraft from Antonov, Ilyushin and Tupolev, which were gradually replaced by more modern. In July 2001, joined as a pre -flown from Djibouti goal from Paris, in October 2002, followed by London. The slogan in the following years was Connecting the Horn of Africa to the Global Village ("the Horn of Africa to the Global Village connect ").

In the meantime, we also operate larger aircraft from Boeing, but now the leasing partners were returned.

In early 2008 acquired a subsidiary of investment company Istithmar World of Dubai ( Emirate ) shares in the company. The airline should be re-formed and the flag carrier of Djibouti. Instead, however, the company ran into financial difficulties of the parent company by the end of 2009.

In the same year Daallo ended up to this time uninterrupted scheduled service to Europe's airports Paris -Charles -de- Gaulle and Gatwick Airport in London. In March 2010 Daallo was forced to completely stop the operation for some time.

After February 2012, the government of Djibouti Air has adjusted the air service to Dubai, Daallo Airlines is the only airline that still operates scheduled flights in Djibouti and therefore describes itself as a national carrier for Republic of Djibouti.

Objectives

Previously flew Daallo Airlines to Europe, at the present time (July 2013) will be flown to Djibouti, Hargeisa, Dubai, Jeddah, Nairobi and Mogadishu.
