Dane Byers

Dane Byers ( born February 21, 1986 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since April 2013 in the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Byers played as a teenager at the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League. After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the second round to 48th by the New York Rangers, he played two more seasons in the WHL.

At the end of the 2005/06 season he ran for the first time in the Rangers farm team, the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League on. The following two seasons spent the striker as a regular player in the squad of the Wolf Pack. At the end of the 2007/ 08 Byers was first appointed to the squad of Rangers. The next match of the 2008/ 09 season, he missed almost entirely due to a serious injury. Due Eininger injuries in the squad of Rangers he was finally appointed to the NHL squad again in October 2009, here be the first goal in the NHL he succeeded against the Minnesota Wild.

On 11 November 2010, the Rangers sent him to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange moved Chad Kolarik to the Rangers. On 28 August 2011, shortly before the trade deadline, the Blue Jackets traded it along with Rostislav Klesla Scottie Upshall and Sami Lepisto against the Phoenix Coyotes.

On 11 July 2011 Byers signed as a free agent a Zweiwegvertrag for one year at the Columbus Blue Jackets.
