Daniel Amokachi
Daniel Amokachi Owefin ( born December 30, 1972 in Kaduna ) is a former Nigerian football player. He made numerous games for the Nigerian national football team. As such, he was a participant at the World Championships in 1994 and 1998. Has also contributed to winning the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics in.
Career
When he played for the Ranchers Bees, he was discovered by the Nigerian national team coach Clemens Westerhof, who brought him to the African Cup of Nations 1990. Soon after, he moved to FC Bruges in Belgium. After good performances there and at the World Cup 1994, FC Everton interested in Amokachi and took him for three million British pounds under contract. He won by this club in 1995 the FA Cup, where he scored two goals in the semi-finals. In the final he was only briefly used, but the fans remained memorable because he celebrated with a Basque beret. He remained until 1996 in Everton, without that he made the hoped-for impression, and then pound on Beşiktaş Istanbul was sold for 1.75 million. In Istanbul Beşiktaş played Amokachi whole three years (1996-1999).
Before the 1998 World Cup Amokachi was hurt, just played a game and fought in the episode with knee problems. After leaving Beşiktaş in 1999, his career was essentially over. He signed with TSV 1860 Munich, but was not the medical tests, after which the contract was terminated. For the same reason he was not accepted at the Tranmere Rovers. Amokachi then trained at the French second division side U.S. Créteil, but continued to fight with injury problems. Colorado Rapids, an association of the American League MLS took him under contract in 2002, but as you saw there that he was not fit enough, you dismissed him before he could play a game. He went to play in the United Arab Emirates, failed there, but again due to medical problems.
He is now part of the Nigerian team coach, he has numerous other job opportunities because he is also a graduate of New York Law School, and thus a full-fledged lawyer.
