Romelu Lukaku ( born May 13, 1993, Antwerp ) is a Belgian footballer of Congolese descent. He is under contract at Chelsea and plays since September 2013 on loan at Everton.
Career
In the club
After he was already active as a youth player for Lierse SK and RSC Anderlecht, he signed at the beginning of the 2009/10 season at the age of 16 years a professional contract with RSC Anderlecht. There he quickly counted for stem formation and was successful as a scorer (15 league goals in 25 games ), especially since he is very penetrating power and strong in the air, but also fast with its size of 1.93 m. In his sixth Europa League use, he scored in a 3-1 away win for RSC Anderlecht Ajax Amsterdam his first two goals at the European level with which he contributed to the group victory of his club. On 20 December 2009 he was elected Belgium's largest sports talent of the year. He took first place in front of the racer Bertrand Baguette and the athlete Anne Zagre. With 15 goals, he was in the 2009/10 season top scorer in Belgium and had share in the profits of the Belgian football championship in the same season.
In August 2011, Lukaku moved to Chelsea and signed a five-year contract until 30 June 2016; he received the shirt number 18 in his first season Lukaku came only little playing time. In order to gain match practice, he was loaned for the 2012/13 season in the Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion. In the Supercup final against Bayern Munich on August 30, 2013 Lukaku missed the crucial last penalty of the penalty shootout.
On September 2, 2013 Lukaku joined on the last day of the transfer period within the league until the end of the 2013/14 season on loan to Everton.
National
On 3 March 2010 Lukaku made his international debut for the Belgian national team in a friendly against Croatia. He scored his first two goals in the victory against Russia in a friendly match on November 17, 2010 in Voronezh.
