Steven Pienaar ( born March 17, 1982 in Johannesburg) is a South African football player. He plays in midfield on the position of playmaker.

Association
Ajax Cape Town
Pienaar joined at the beginning of his career in South Africa Ajax Cape Town. This association is part of the " Ajax AG " that operates this association for the promotion of young talent.
Ajax Amsterdam
From 2001 to 2006 Pienaar played in the Dutch league for Ajax Amsterdam. At Ajax he came alongside the playmaker position on the position of the right side striker used.
Borussia Dortmund

National
Pienaar plays in the South African national team. He made his debut on 23 May 2002 against Turkey. Shortly thereafter, he took part with the national team at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. In 2010 he also took part in South Africa with the World Cup in their own country. In October 2012, he announced his retirement from the national team.
