Daniel Fonseca

Daniel Fonseca Garis (* September 13, 1969 in Montevideo, Uruguay ) is a former Uruguayan football player. Today he works as a player consultant. He is the half brother of the soccer star Juan Ramón and Jorge Curbelo.

Career

Association

Daniel Fonseca began his football career in 1988 in Uruguay Nacional Montevideo. In 1990 he moved to Italy to Cagliari Calcio, where he won 50 games in 17 matches. In 1992 he went to Napoli. Here, Fonseca became the top striker and scored 31 goals in two seasons. Thus, the Roma became aware of him and signed him in 1994. In Rome, however, he could not sit down and had to leave most other strikers go first.

1997 Fonseca went to Juventus. He remained there for three years and won with the Old Lady in 1997/98 the Italian championship. In 2002, the Uruguayan to Argentina, River Plate. 2002 him the Italian club Calcio Como took them under contract. In 2003, he finished his career there.

National
