Daniel L. Ryan

Daniel Leo Ryan ( born September 28, 1930 in Mankato ) is retired Bishop of Springfield in Illinois.

Life

Daniel Leo Ryan received on May 3, 1956, ordained priest for the Diocese of Joliet in Illinois.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 14 August 1981 for the Auxiliary Bishop of Joliet in Illinois and Titular Bishop of Surista. The Bishop of Joliet in Illinois, Joseph Leopold Imesch, donated him on September 30th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Raymond James Vonesh, Auxiliary Bishop of Joliet in Illinois, and Daniel William Kucera, OSB, Bishop of Salina.

On November 22, 1983, he was appointed Bishop of Springfield in Illinois, and introduced into the office on January 18 of next year. From his office he resigned on 19 October 1999.
