Daniel Seghers

Daniel Seghers ( Daniel Zegers ) ( * before December 6, 1590 in Antwerp, † November 2, 1661 ) was a Dutch painter.

Seghers was formed among a flower painter Jan Brueghel, entered in 1611 into the painters' guild of Antwerp and 1614 the Society of Jesus. This permitted him to his training for an extended stay in Rome. He likes painted garlands of flowers to the Madonna and the saints pictures of Rubens students (Abraham van Diepenbeeck, Cornelius Schut, Erasmus Quellinus II, van Thulden ), which are usually held in grisaille, so that they appear as a relief; but he also flowers in Bouketts and in vases dar.

Its color is fresh and bright, without falling into variegation; his drawing is very carefully. He died on November 2, 1661 in Antwerp. Pictures of him can be found especially numerous in Belgium, Vienna, Dresden, London, The Hague, in Madrid and other cities.
