Daniela Anschütz-Thoms

Daniela Anschütz - Thoms, born Anschütz ( born November 20, 1974 in Erfurt) is a former German speed skater and Olympic gold medalist.

Anschütz - Thoms operation since 1984, the speed skating sports, they started for the ESC Erfurt and was coached by Stephan Gneupel. 1993/94 they became German Junior Champion in the all around. Numerous top rankings in German, European and World Championships and Olympic Games followed. 2001/ 02 and 2002/ 03 they became German champion in the 5000 meters. 2004/ 05, she repeated this success and was in a team with Sabine peoples and Anni Friesinger World Champion. In the all-around 2008 World Championships in Berlin Daniela Anschütz - Thoms finished sixth as the best German.

On 16 February 2006 Anschütz - Thoms won with Anni Friesinger and Claudia Pechstein the final of the team pursuit race of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin against Canada - the first speed skating gold for Germany in Turin at the Olympic premiere of this discipline. Again, Olympic gold medalist in the team pursuit Anschütz - Thoms was at the Olympics in Vancouver together with Katrin Mattscherodt, Stephanie Beckert and Anni Friesinger - Postma.
