Daniele Amfitheatrof

Daniele Amfitheatrof (actually Daniil Alexandrovich Amfiteatrow, Russian Даниил Александрович Амфитеатров; born October 29, 1901 in St. Petersburg, Russia, † June 7, 1983 in Rome, Italy ) was a Russian -born composer, orchestra conductor and film composer, regularly active since 1939 when U.S. film.

Life

Amfitheatrof, son of the historian Alexander Amfiteatrow (1862-1938), had studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Rome and conducted a guest, symphonic orchestra in Prague, Rome, Budapest, Vienna and other European cities. The broadcasters of Genoa and Trieste Amfitheatrof was used from 1929 to 1932 as artistic director. Subsequently, he worked for five years in Turin, for Radiotelevisione Italiana as well as at the Teatro di Torino. Since 1937 worked Daniele Amfitheatrof in American opera houses (including in Minneapolis and Boston).

During a stay in Rome 1934 Max Ophüls, the film score for his comedy asked him to compose A diva for all. This work initially was the only trip to the movie industry until Amfitheatrof since arriving regularly prescribed the film in the U.S.. There he showed since 1944 a U.S. citizen, an able composer of soundtrack music for dramatic or melodramatic Hollywood movie. In many of his works until 1943, he was not named. For his achievements to his wife, my wife and Uncle Remus' Wonderland is Amfitheatrof 1946 respectively in 1948 nominated for an Oscar.
