Homesickness is an American feature film from the year 1943. It is the first feature film with the film Collie Lassie as the main character.

The film is based on a literary work of the British- American writer Eric Knight. On December 17, 1938 whose short story Lassie Come Home was published in the Saturday Evening Post; 1940, the publication of the substance as a novel.

In 2005, the film was titled Lassie returns remade.

Action

The collie Lassie is the best friend of the living in the English Yorkshire boy Joe. Every day brings Lassie the boy by four clock in the afternoon from school. Background

Films such as homesickness were once regarded as the ideal distraction entertainment in the war-torn United States. For the selection of the right Collie a large casting was held on the grounds of the MGM studios, on the show had their dogs to a jury, the Breeders.

Homesickness was Elizabeth Taylor's second film and the first film in which she participated for Metro -Goldwyn- Mayer. MGM then gave her one of the then industry-standard seven-year studio contract.
