Daniil Trifonov

Daniil Trifonov Olegovich (Russian Даниил Олегович Трифонов; * March 5, 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod ) is a Russian pianist and composer.

Life

Trifonov studied at the Moscow Institute Gnessins in the class of Tatiana Zelikman and since 2009 at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Sergei Babayan.

He won several piano competitions, including the 2010 third prize at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2011 and the 1st prize at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv and the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. The Süddeutsche Zeitung called him after his Germany debut at the Berlin Philharmonie "one of the most successful and most incomprehensible piano talents of recent decades ".

Trifonov has performed in his homeland as well as in Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States. Daniil Trifonov 2013 again gave a concert in New York's Carnegie Hall. This concert was released in October 2013 as a live recording of " The Carnegie Recital" by Deutsche Grammophon.

Besides his work as a pianist himself Trifonov could profile as a composer.
