Danny Dichio

Daniele " Danny" Dichio Salvatore (* October 19, 1974 in Hammersmith ) is a retired English football player of Italian descent. Most recently, he played for the Canadian club Toronto FC in American football professional league Major League Soccer.

Sports career

His career began in his native England at the Queens Park Rangers. In 1997, the striker went to Italy to play at Sampdoria. There, however, he could not free himself and went, after a brief stint in the U.S. Lecce, back to England.

From 1998 to 2007, he played for various English clubs before he moved to Canada to play for the newly formed club Toronto FC. On May 12, 2007 in the club's history for Toronto FC, ​​he scored the first player to a regular goal.

On 18 March 2009 Dichio announced his retirement at the end of the 2009 season, took over the role of a club ambassador in Toronto and the surrounding area in the connector and also joined the coaching staff of the extended Toronto FC.
