Danseys Pass

The Dansey Pass ( often mistakenly referred to as Dansey 's Pass or Pass Danseys ) is a mountain pass in the Otago region of New Zealand's South Island. The pass is at 935 meters above sea level in Central Otago. The pass road connecting the area to the upper reaches of the Taieri River, which is called the Strath Taieri, in the south with the plane around the Waitaki River in the north. Here, the pass crosses the northern part of the Kakanui Range. This mountain range borders from the Maniototo level of North Otago.

Although the track is not a major thoroughfare, it is used as a connection of the villages Naseby and Ranfurly in the south to the Mackenzie Basin in the southern Canterbury. Use as a detour route to a part of the flow on the coast State Highway 1 is possible, and it represents a detour of over 100 kilometers.

The village of Dansey Pass is located approximately halfway between the pass and the village Duntroon in the Northeast. It is confusing that the original Dansey Pass Hotel was built on the western side of the pass.
