Dănuț Lupu

Dănuţ Lupu ( born February 27, 1967 in Galaţi, Romania ) is a former Romanian football player. He completed a total of 309 games in Divizia A, Alpha Ethniki and Serie A. He also participated in the World Cup 1990.

Career

Dănuţ Lupu began his career in his native town of Galaţi Galaţi at Dunărea in the second Romanian football league, the Divizia B. In the winter break 1986/87 resulted in him the ability to switch to the Romanian top club Dinamo Bucharest. There he reached after three runner-up in the 1989/90 season winning the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup and the semi-finals in the European Cup Winners' Cup. Then moved Lupu - like many other Romanian national team too - after the FIFA 1990 World Cup abroad and joined the Greek giants Panathinaikos Athens. He was not used regularly, but still won the Greek Championship and the Greek Cup. To get more inserts Lupu moved to league rivals FC Korinthos. There he was indeed again a regular player, but rose in 1993 from the Alpha Ethniki from.

In 1993, Lupu joined OFI Crete, but returned back yet during the season to Romania to Rapid Bucharest. At the end of a mediocre season with a few uses Lupu dared step abroad again in 1994 and moved to Brescia Calcio, where were already some of the Romanian national team under contract. But already the winter break, he returned again to Rapid Bucharest, where he played a successful second round and then moved to Dinamo Bucharest. After Lupu had regained its former strength, he moved in 1997 for a third time to Rapid Bucharest and won in 1999 his second Romanian league title. In 2000 he left Rapid and ended after two unfortunate stations at Dinamo Bucharest and Hapoel Holon Zafririm in Israel, where he hardly used his career.

National

Lupu played a total of 14 caps for the Romanian national football team. He did not belong throughout the squad to, but completed his games over nine years distributed. His first game he played on October 11, 1989 against Denmark. In 1990, convened in Emerich Jenei into the squad for the FIFA World Cup 1990, where it was used twice. After he hardly used at his new club Panathinaikos Athens, initially followed by no further internationals. Only in 1995 and 1999 were added to isolated operations.
