The horror film Dark Water (Japanese仄暗い水の底から, mizu no soko kara Honogurai ) is the film adaptation of the title story of the book by Koji Suzuki. The film is about a single mother who is a dark secret in her new apartment on the track. Directed by Hideo Nakata.
Action
The single Matsubara Yoshimi moves to the divorce from her husband and her daughter Ikuko in a flat in a tenement. First, it gives the water stain on the bedroom ceiling little attention, especially since it is hoped that the caretaker Kamiya is caring for it. Your attention is primarily the custody battle against her ex-husband, and the job search. But soon, water drips from the ceiling and eerie events are piling up: A mysterious children handbag keeps popping up on the roof, from above are constantly heard tramping steps and again she sees a strange girl in a yellow raincoat. It was only gradually, she realizes that the events related to the disappearance two years ago Kawai Mitsuko - and that her daughter is in great danger. Remake
2005 appeared the remake Dark Water - Dark water. The main role was played by Jennifer Connelly, directed by Walter Salles.
Background
This film has had an influence on American film ring to a great extent. So Samara is more like Mitsuko than actual with her idol Sadako. Even the strong use of water as well as the search of the undead girl by a mother from The Ring 2 found its origin in Dark Water.
