Darvydas Šernas (2011)

Darvydas Šernas ( born April 22, 1984 in Alytus ) is a Lithuanian footballer. He is since 2011 in Zagłębie Lubin under contract, but currently plays as Players out on loan at Gaziantepspor.

Career

Association

Šernas began his career in 2001 at Dainava Alytus, from where he moved to Vilnius Vėtra 2002. In five and a half years at Vėtra the team was three times the third highest Lithuanian league. He also played in four consecutive Intertoto Cup, where he scored two goals in five appearances ( against CFR Cluj and Llanelli AFC from Wales). In September 2008 he joined on loan for three months after Russia Spartak Nalchik.

The left midfielder signed with Widzew Łódź in Poland. After the first place in 2009 in the second highest Polish league, which still was not enough to rise because of license issues, the first club was in 2010, in the second league and ascend in the Ekstraklasa. In summer 2011 Šernas moved to league rivals Zagłębie Lubin.

Beginning in January 2013, he joined on loan until the end of the season 2012/13 to the Turkish first division side Gaziantepspor, who also has an option to buy. From this, the club made ​​in May 2013 and committed use Šernas fixed for 2013/14 season.

In the spring of 2014 Serna joined the Australian club Perth Glory.

National

For Lithuania Šernas played more 25 games and scored four goals. He made his debut 31 May 2008 against Estonia when he was substituted in the 51st minute for Andrius Jokšas. The friendly international match in Jurmala was won 1-0. Its been a goal for Lithuania he scored on 11 February 2009 in a friendly against Andorra. In the 3-1 win in Albufeira he scored the intermediate 2-0.
