Dasle

Dasle is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Dasle is located at 380 m above the sea, about eight kilometers east-southeast of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The church, a former street village, extends southeast of the Bay of Montbéliard, in a wide trough which opens west to the Doubs Valley, in the northern foothills of the Jura.

The area of ​​5.67 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the northern French Jura. The central part of the area occupied by the nearly one kilometer wide valley of Dasle that is drained to the Doubs by the Ruisseau de Dasle to the west. This trough is flanked by the plateaus, which are among the foothills of the Jura. These are partly passed with arable and meadow land, partly by forest. To the north, the municipality's area covers the extensive forests of the Bois des Vernes ( to 410 m) and Bois de Meilloncourt (420 m). To the east, the land rises gradually to the plateau of Beaucourt. With 475 m Échenets is achieved the highest elevation of Dasle on the slope of Grammont in the woods Les.

To Dasle heard the hamlet of Les Monts -de- Dasle (450 m ) in beautiful location on sloping to the west slope of the plateau of Beaucourt. Neighboring communities of Dasle are Étupes and Dampierre -les -Bois in the north, and Beaucourt Montbouton in the east, and Vandoncourt Seloncourt in the south and Audi Court in the West.

History

Since the Middle Ages Dasle belonged to the territory of the Counts of Montbéliard. A small portion was owned by the rule Blamont and shared their fate. Under the incidence of the Guises ( 1587/88 ) and during the Thirty Years' War ( especially in the period 1633-1642 ) Dasle suffered greatly. With the annexation of the county of Montbeliard the village came in 1793 final in French hands. In the vicinity of the village earlier ore was mined, which was processed in the iron works of Audi Court.

With the opening of the railway line Montbéliard Morvillars on June 29, 1868 Dasle was connected to the French railroad network; the station Dasle - Beaucourt also served the neighboring community, which led to a tram 1904-1938. Passenger traffic on the railway line was set in 1938, the last freight train in the direction Morvillars perverted, 1969; the disused section was completely removed. From Audi Court of goods traffic was stopped in 1990, the remaining distance was locally degraded and is no longer passable.

Since 1994 Dasle part of the community association Agglomà du Pays de Montbéliard.

Attractions

The Reformed village church of Dasle was built in the late 19th century. Of the former castle of La Motte only a few remains are visible.

Population

With 1420 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Dasle one of the smaller communities of the department of Doubs. After 1901 or 1044 people were counted, was until 1936 a decline in population by more than 30 %. With the beginning of the 1950s began a strong growth, coupled with a doubling of the population within about 10 years. Since then, the population remained at an approximately constant level. Today, the settlement area of Dasle with that of Beaucourt has grown together almost seamlessly.

Economy and infrastructure

During the 19th century, Dasle developed into a characteristically industrial community. Many workers in the Japy factory in Beaucourt had their residence in Dasle. Today, various companies in the small and medium industry, located in particular in the sectors of manufacturing auto accessories, mechanics, sheet metal processing and electrical installation in the community. In addition, there are numerous shops of retail for your everyday needs. Many workers are also commuters who do their work in the other municipalities of the agglomeration Montbéliard.

The village has good transport links. It is located on a secondary road that leads from Audi Court after Beaucourt. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about eight kilometers. Further road links exist with Étupes, Dampierre- les- Bois, Montbouton, Vandoncourt and Seloncourt. With the city of Montbéliard Dasle is connected by a bus.
