Taillecourt

Taillecourt is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Waist Court is located on 333 m, 4 km east-southeast of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located in the basin of Montbeliard, increased slightly at the edge of Doubstals and the valley of Audi Court, on the northern edge of the outermost foothills of the Jura.

The area of ​​1.86 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the basin of Montbéliard on the southern edge of the Burgundian Gate ( trouée de Belfort ). The western part of the area occupied by the valley of Audi Court, which is on average 325 m. This valley is bounded on the north by a hill which separates the broad river valleys of Doubs and Allan. To the east, the municipality's area extends over a gently rising slope down to the wooded height of the Grand Bois on the edge of the Jura. Here the highest elevation of Taillecourt is achieved with 391 m.

Neighboring communities of Taillecourt are Étupes the north and east, Audi Court in the south and Exincourt in the West.

History

The first mention in writing Taillecourt in 1145 in a charter of Archbishop Humbert of Besançon under the name Thallicort. Over time, the spelling on Tylcort (1150 ) and Tayllecourt ( 1223 ) to today's name changed. Since the Middle Ages Taillecourt belonged to the territory of the Counts of Montbéliard. With the annexation of that county, the village came in 1793 final in French hands. In the 19th century it was mined iron ore, which was processed in the iron works of Audi Court. Today Taillecourt part of the community association Communauté d' Agglomà du Pays de Montbéliard.

Attractions

One of the oldest surviving buildings of the former farm Taillecourt Ridet heard ( built before 1840), which today is owned by the community.

Population

With 1022 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Taillecourt one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. During the 20th century the population grew steadily until 1982 (1901 only 162 persons were counted ). This was followed up to 1990, a decline of 12%. Since then, a significant population growth was recorded again. Today, the settlement area of Taillecourt with those of Exincourt and Audi Court has grown together almost seamlessly.

Economy and infrastructure

Taillecourt was up in the first half of the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. In addition, there are now several companies of local small businesses. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community in the agglomeration Montbéliard. Many workers are therefore commuters who engage in neighboring towns and cities of their work.

The village has good transport links. It lies on the main road N437 that runs from Belfort via Sochaux after Audi Court. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 2 km. Another road connection with Étupes. With the city of Montbéliard and the surrounding communities Taillecourt is connected by a bus.
