Dato Marsagishvili

Dawit " Dato " Marsagischwili (Georgian დათო მარსაგიშვილი; born March 30, 1991 Kazbek ) is a Georgian wrestler. He won a bronze medal each in free style in the middleweight division at the 2011 World Championships and at the Olympic Games 2012 in London.

Career

Dato Marsagischwili began under the guidance of his father Levan Marsagischwili in 1997 Kazbek with the rings. He concentrated on the free style and developed already in the junior age at an excellent wrestler. In 2009 he was admitted to the Georgian National Team of freestyle wrestler and has been training at this time Dawid Churtsija in a Ringer center in Tbilisi. Very successful Marsagischwili was Dato then in 2011. He won in four international championships medal. In the junior level he was to beat neither at the European Championships in Zrenjanin and even at the World Championships in Bucharest and won both titles. Also at the European Championships in Dortmund, he showed up in fine form, defeating Dejan Bogdanov from Macedonia, Ibrahim Bülükbasi, Marco giants, Switzerland and Gheorghita Stefan from Romania and was thus in the final Anzor Urischew from Russia against. In March 2012, Dato Marsagischwili won his first title at an international championship of seniors. He was European champion in Belgrade. He defeated in the final of the former world champion Mikhail GANEV from Bulgaria on points. At the Olympic Games in London, he won a bronze medal with a win over Uitumen Orgodol, Mongolia, a somewhat surprising loss to Jaime Yusept Espinal of Puerto Rico and with victories in the consolation round of Andrew Adibo Dick, Nigeria and Soslan Gattsijew, Belarus.

In 2013 he repeated in Tbilisi its title from the European Championship in 2012. He defeated it in the middleweight Dominic Klaus Peter, Austria, Andrei Frant, Romania, Anzor Urischew and Musa Murtasalijew, Armenia.
