David A. Bednar

David Allan Bednar ( born June 15, 1952 in Oakland, California) is an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints, and since 2004 member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Life

Bednar worked as a missionary in southern Germany in his youth. He then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received a bachelor in 1976, and in 1977 a master. At Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1980, he received a Ph.D. Bednar taught now as a professor of business management at Texas Tech University and the University of Arkansas. After that, he was on 1 July 1997 President of Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. During his presidency, the college was founded in 2001 to Brigham Young University - Idaho. As a result of his appointment to the Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in October 2004, entered into force on 1 December 2004 of the presidency back. As an Apostle Bednar is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Bednar is married and father of three sons since 1975.
