David Burke (British actor)

David Burke ( born May 25, 1934 in Liverpool) is a British actor.

Life

David Burke studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Since 1963 it mainly occurs in television series and the theater.

He achieved fame through his portrayal of Dr. Watson in the Granada Television TV series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in 1984 and 1985. He got to the end of the year 1985, to spend more time with his family. He also wanted to take a theater offer. He himself suggested Edward Hardwicke as his successor for the Holmes series, because Granada wanted to produce the series. David Burke played Watson in 13 episodes on the side of Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. Werner Honest synchronized Burke in this series.

In the series Spooks Werner Ziebig lent him his voice.

Published in March 2012 in Germany The Woman in Black, a Hammer Horror movie with Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role. Burke took over the role of the PC Collins.

Burke is married to actress Anna Calder - Marshall. Their son, Tom Burke is also an actor. In an episode of Inspector Lynley they stood together in front of the camera.
