David Evans, Baron Evans of Watford

David Charles Evans, Baron Evans of Watford, of Chipperfield in the County of Hertfordshire ( born November 30, 1942) is a British entrepreneur, business manager and Labour Party politician, who is a life peer member of the House of Lords since 1998.

Life

After schooling Evans completed an apprenticeship as a printer in 1971 and founded his own printing and publishing company Centurion Press Group, whose chairman he remained until 2002. At the same time he worked as a manager of several companies in the printing and publishing industries and other industries and among other things Chairman of Senate Consulting Ltd., Partnership Sourcing Ltd, TU ink Ltd, Personnel Publications Ltd, Redactive Publishing Ltd, Indigo Publishing Ltd, Evans Mitchell Books and member of the Supervisory Board of Care Capital plc and a board member of KISS 100 FM.

By Letters Patent of 28 July 1998 Evans was raised as a life peer with the title Baron Evans of Watford, of Chipperfield in the County of Hertfordshire in the peerage. Shortly afterwards, was his introduction ( Introduction) as a member of the House of Lords. In the upper house he belongs to the Group of the Labour Party. During his membership in the House of Lords, he was between 1999 and 2004 Association member of the Upper House to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Lord Evans, who is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a member of the Livery Company the Worshipful Company of Marketors, is also engaged as Deputy Chairman of the International Medical Education Trust, a board member of the Hospital of the University College London, as a trustee of the Royal Air Force Museum as well as an honorary member of the cancer Research society cancer UK. He is also a director of the Royal Air Force Trading Co and Watford Community Events.
